i was 25 when i had my gall bladder removed. i had gallstones for 2 years prior and didnt even know it or realize it. at first it just feels like a mild case of intergestion. maalox will help it go away with no problem. but a few months before i had the gall bladder taken out i kept getting what i thought was a real bad case of i ntergestion. it was right above the ribs. it felt like a full feeling and really bloating feeling. nothing helps at that point. at times you will feel nauseated. you stomach may even hurt. that it wehn i went to the doctor and had an ultrasound. i did have a few galllstones. it had to be removed right away. dont play with it. go to the doctor. the surgery only lasted 45 minutes and i had it done my laser. no long recovery at all. and really no pain. the muscles in your stomach hurt a little because that was where the 3 slits were. it just felt sore...kind of like you did one too many situps. it was not bad at all. the doctor told me that i was going to wake up after surgery with only 4 bandaids and i did. the few and little stitches came out about a week later. but take care of it and if needed schedule a surgery,. you dont want to go in for an emergency surgery for gallbladder.

Often they are asymptomatic and discovered incidentally in the course of diagnosing or treating some other ailment. If there are symptoms, they may include colicky pain the right upper quadrant of the abdomen, which may refer to the shoulder blade area; bloating and discomfort after eating fatty foods (which is due to the inability of bile to get into the intestine when the bile duct is blocked by a stone); there may or may not be nausea or vomiting; if there is inflammation coexisting with the gallstones, there may be fever or other signs of general malaise. The standard treatment is cholecystectomy, i.e., surgical removal of the gallbladder.
Gallstones are more common in women, and especially in women who have used birth control pills.

I was just diagnosed. Among the symptoms are a severe pain in the upper right quadrant of your abdomen. Perhaps nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. Some people have pain in their back as well. It's very hard to get comfortable. I also felt cramping in my upper right quadrant. Even at this moment, I've had too much coffee and I can feel a dull ache.
