It was Lot's wife and it was a pillar of salt. Never heard of someones wife being turned into dust.

When he divided from Abraham the flocks and herds were so numerous that it was causing trouble. They were both rich.
Yet along with the city he lost the herds men the flocks and his wife. He got the first choice but it turned out to be a mistake.

I believe you are referring to the wife of Lot who was turned into a pillar of salt because she turned and watched the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. This story is contained in the Old testament of the Bible.
