I think you might need to put on some weight and see a doctor. It does take time for your periods to become regular but every week for several months sounds wrong to me. Talk to your mum and see a doctor.

Menstrual irregularities are quite common when you have just started with your period. As you grow older, your period will become regular. However, to be tension free, please get your check-up done.

The following are most likely to be checked:
* Thyroid : "TSH" and / or "T3" will be checked first via a blood test. An over active thyroid (hyperthyroid) leads to reduction in weight. Any kind of thyroid problem mostly leads to menstrual problem.

* The doctor might also do your blood tests for Progesterone, Estrogen.

* Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) : For this problem, you will be checked only if doctor thinks you have it, and blood tests reveal something wrong.

Here's what is wrong... You are asking this question on Yahoo and not at a doctor's office, that's what's wrong. Since August? Really? 4 months? And still you haven't been to a doctor that can probably tell you what is wrong in 15 minutes?

it could either be anemia, a chemical imbalance, or your body is just maturing go to the doctor and they can perform some test to determine the issue.
