How many of you out there think that it's absolutely rude for your boyfriend (or any other man that is in your home) to leave the toilet seat up? I had a boyfriend who used to do this, it would irk me like no other. I would feel so disrespected when he would leave the seat up. How do you feel about this??

Uh, okay, I guess that I have not made myslef clear....I said that I HAD a boyfriend who USED to leave the seat up (and I never lived with a bunch of guys, just my dad and brother, my brother would periodically leave the seat up). I am just curious if any other girls thought having a toilet seat left up was rude, thats all.

Yes it makes me sick, worst scenario is when they leave down and wet and you come running in and sit on it~Yuk yes it's nasty!I try to show my 5 yr. old boy the correct way.

I actually don't mind the fact of someone leaving the toilet seat up, it's just not something that has ever got under my skin... I understand that we all have peeves but to that scenario, I would just put the seat back down, and get to business...

I personally don't like it since I have a kid who likes to play in water, and thank God he has not found the toilet bowl yet. Not to mention the nice toilet seat cover that is not appreciated when the seat is left up, so I encourage my spouse to put everything down because the flower seat cover matches the rugs.

I really don't care. I would rather a guy leave the seat up then to pee on the seat. Now, peeing on the seat, that would be rude.

I don't feel it is rude I simply have a rule that GUESTS and FAMILY MUST follow.

My rule is that the toilet LID is to remain closed when not in use due to my cats enjoying swimming alittle too much. Anyone leaving the lid open WILL give the cat, which ever cat it may be at that particular time, a bath or they will not be allowed to leave nor come back in my home till it is done!!

My house MY RULES !!

My husband leaves the seat up and I don't really mind. I'd rather have to lift the seat down to sit on it than wipe up urine from the seat if he drips on it.

If the seat stayed down all the time and he had to lift it every time he peed, do you think he'd have a right to *****? You probably wouldn't think so, would you? It's the same situation, only reversed.

I never viewed it as rude or took it personally. Guys just don't think about it the way some women do. We lower ours to keep objects from falling in accidentally and to keep the critters out of it. And yes, it's more sanitary that way.

I think it's gross. I mean, most guys "accidentally" pee on the seat when they go and I don't want to touch that...eww. Plus it can spread germs if they don’t put the seat and lid down before they flush; all that stuff that’s in there “sprays” everywhere if you flush and the lid is not down.

Yes it is inconsiderate to leave the seat up when they are through. You go in in the middle of the night and you fall in that is not very funny, or when they leave it down and just wet on it and then you sit on it.
