You need to read on the products label how much you need to take a day. Some fiber pills I know of, adults are suppose to take two a day. The only times I have heard of people taking too much fiber on purpose were in cases of people who had eating disorders and were trying to get the food out of their body that way... if that is your case... it doesn't work and it will irritate your or inflame your intestines.

As long as you do not feel bloated from the fiber and you have regular bowel movements you should be fine.Increase the fiber a little at a time.

It's more than OK to adjust your diet to do the same.

Get a referral to a registered dietician. With a proper diet, the fibre supplements shouldn't be necessary. In addition, with a proper diet, you will be much healthier overall. There is no substitute.

You should only take what the directions advise. I don't think it'll hurt you or anything, but I would at least be on the safe side and ask your doctor.
