To avoid getting sidetracked I just want to state that the question below should be a secondary focus that is simply related to the main question.

I hear that Faith is the foundation of it all but I ask you this, what would happen if you were to use this same train of thought when it comes to life in general and not specifically God?

I think people need someone to follow-- that it is easier to place your faith and hope in someone above you, to lead you and fix your problems for you, to forgive your transgressions, than to place the burden of responsibility for your own thoughts and actions squarely on your own shoulders. To save your own soul.

it would be pretty disasterous if people use the same train of thought for life in general. You can emagion. It doesn't mean that life is a rool model for how we trust ourselves in God. There's lots of things we just have to believe apart from God.

People believe in God because they have listened into what God has for their lives and fealt his existance. Some people are really changed after they give God a try. It's hard to understand, but this isn't just a "know him, and you're saved" kind of deal. People feel God's presence. It's not like some sort of meditation. It's more of when things-are-bad-and-you-know they-will-get-better-later, kind of feeling. There are many stories like that. Expecially in some, where someone becomes christian, and they are kicked out of their own family with no regrets. Its' powerful stuff.

I believe in God based on the simple belief I have that scientific theory falls short of explaining to me how it "ALL" started in the very first place.
And in life we do move forward with many things in faith that some thing in particular will happen next, we have no real proof that things will occur as we believe they will.

people believe in God/spirituality because it is who we are. Humans have always been spiritual beings, we desire to live forever. It is as if God "planted" knowledge of himself in our hearts>

I have it on good authority that He is going to put in an appearance real soon.

Trouble is - no one will believe Him.
