I think so, but I suspect I'm in the minority. Most people in this country think it's their birthright to deny entry to others and to ensure that they don't enjoy the same freedoms as their (immigrant) ancestors.

All students that are enrolled in United States school system should be required to speak English. It doesn't matter what their nationality is, whether it be Mexican, Russian, Korean, etc.... We are an English speaking country.

I agree with all the other posters thus far....that is why I am homeschooling my children---when I went to enroll them last year and had to listen to the administration talk to 3 out of 4 kids in Spanish, I decided I wanted my children taught in English only.

Nope....The good ole US of A is an English speaking nation. Those who want to take advantage of the free services that are offered them should be the ones to learn the language. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

I show ESL in a extreme college and the Spanish instructors and that i desperate that my community Spanish audio gadget could be placed in the two Spanish IV or AP Spanish. In previous years they have been in Spanish I or II and grow to be bored and a few grow to be self-discipline issues by using fact of it. This 12 months that's working lots greater useful. the better point training are greater difficult and that they are gaining expertise of the grammar and the thank you to jot down wisely of their community language. lots of them do lack literacy skills in Spanish so those training do help. one in each of my pupils informed the AP instructor, "thank you for coaching me Spanish." a number of my pupils do take French although. it somewhat is tremendous in the event that they grow to be trilingual!

No, if they want to move to the US and live here they should learn English the same way our forefathers did when they came over. My grandparents came from Germany but wouldn't let German be spoken in the house my mother and her siblings had to learn English so they could communicate correctly. That's the way it should be.
