For a couple of months I have had patches of skin on my head crumbling off. It's gone down to just one main bit now, just above my hairline. It's not itchy, but i can scratch it off in one lump and it just looks like skin, but then it reapears. I stopped using gels/waxes after it first appeared. My mum thinks it's "cradle cap", surely not??

Craddle cap is seborrhoeic dermatitis and only occurs in pediatrics and the causes are not definite (allergies, genetics, fungus)
Is it limited to the scalp?
Could be Tenia Capitis, an infection by a fungus.

Sounds like a stress disorder alright how have you been lately? Try treating the condition and then taking time to relax more. You deserve to chill out and enjoy your life.

I would try a good over the counter medication for a scalp problem and see if that works. If not, you'll have to check with your dermatologist.

Yep I think she is right, some of my clients get it and they are in their 70's. Try rubbing a little baby oil into the spots before shampooing.
