i doubt that to be true. and just because people say they have faith doesnt mean they do; its not your words that define your faith but your actions. and once people do land in prison, they prolly feel the only thing they have left is God so as a kind of last resort/fill up time/bring peace they find a Bible and start livin the way they should, although its too late. Some people have a skewed vision of faith. But there is only one.

Because people of faith make up 97% of the world population.

And how many non-religious folks go out of their way to register their agnosticism with the US Census Bureau? Just because my parents were members of some religious sect does not mean that I practice any faith whatsoever. But statistically, I am counted as a "person of faith."

And, by the way, professed Atheists make up about 3% of the world population as well. So it looks like you guys are just as criminally inclined as the rest of us.

And if 95% of the prison population is religious, while 2% is atheist, where do the other 3% come from? They are non-religious, or non-professed atheists. You guys may actually have closer to 5% of the prison population, and 3% of the world population. What does that tell you? The non-religious have a far higher population in prison per capita than the religious.

Thanks for the statistic...

Anybody can makeup statistics such as this, many prisoners either find God in prison or make that claim for some sort of leniency. But 95% is way out there, good to hear that only 2% are athiest, they must be a dying population.

I don't have stats, but in my opinion, there are 2 reasons. 1. Because being a person of faith generally indicates that there is a standard to live up to...and if it's too high, people give up and go in the opposite direction. and 2. Because when you're stuck with no place to go and no one to talk to...God is always available.

Really, there can only be a couple of reasons.... Either they are less moral, or they are less intelligent and get caught more often than Atheists. The real statistic in the US is 74% Christian, 0.02% Atheist.

The truth is, people that end up in prison typically cannot take responsibility for their actions. They are victims of society, blah blah blah, woe is me... And, turning to religion allows them to continue blaming outside influences rather than taking responsibility for their own actions.... The Devil makes them do it.

A lot of people develop a relationship with God while already in prison. Where did you find your statistic? Maybe you should research it a little further. A lot of times, stats don't tell the whole story.

You love that 95% to apply to people of faith when it pertains to anything criminal, cruel or whatever don't you. I hope no one of faith swallows your statistics. You really should change the percentage around once in awhile just be be a bit more believable.

Many people are able to develop a personal relationship with God at any time in their life. For some people it takes an awful lot of suffering before they find their way. Then there are those who must be absolutely without another way to go before they seek Our Father.

Because the laws of the bible often contridict the laws of the country, which were arrived at through basic moral principles. And people of faith often put their faith first before thinking.

Why do people of NO faith make up more than 95% of Hell's Population?

I see a few of those on their way to hell stopped by to point the thumb to the bottom right of my answer in the direction they're headed.
