What does it mean,when they say in the Bible "God is a jealous God?"

God wants all of you. He doesn't want to share you with the world. In other words, he's doesn't want you to compromise.
Consider this. I heard it on a christian radio station called Air 1.
Let's say you've been dating somebody for a long time. In fact, you want to MARRY this person. Would you let them just go off and date somebody elce? No! That's cheating on you! Well, God loves you so much, he doesn't want you to cheat on him by doing wordly things instead of his will.

There were lots of gods (when Adam and Eve eat from the tree of knowledge God said: "he has become like one of us, knowing good and evil" (Genesis 3:22), but Jehovah was claimed by his followers to be jealous, because worshipping other gods would weaken the priesthood's hold over the people. There are many gods and you may believe in/worship any you wish (or none at all) without Jehovah sending you to hell for it.

it means, that God wants ALL people to LUV him. not everyone in this world will, that why when God comes back he will have all his ppl in Heaven with him, and the Sinners kept here on earth, and they will go through a tribulation.

Jeaslousy does have a positive side.
Just like hate. We should hate what is bad.
God is quite sensitive about certain things and will not extend alot of patience on these issues.
Ezekial 39:25 says He is jealous for His name.

It seems that this god creature is so vain and vindictive that if you do not stroke it's ego by worshiping it in a highly proscribed manner, it tortures you for eternity in everlasting fire. Now that sounds like a highly disturbed creature that is hardly worthy of worship or respect.

You should not have any other gods before Him, when you love someone and they leave you for someone else or they spend time with someone else and give them all of their attention, how do you feel? Jealous?
God loves us and He wants to be first and last in our lives..
