Is not being able to/being sued for expressing beliefs in public taking our our rights of speech and religion? Is not being able to say or post or have certain things in public (christmas tree) forcing others to follow the religion that doesnt believe in it? so is america just slowly being forced to live with a total non-God religion? What do you think? No jokes or negativity would be nice but someone probably will anyway.

yes, political correctness is destroying america's christian culture. There are a few secular elite that want to rid america of all public religious themes. they successfully got rid of the ten commandments from the court house and are trying to re-name all christian themes during the christmas season> Read "Culture Warrior" by Bill O'reily> talks about this.

It would seem that you're making a mistake as to what is going on in regards to "taking the true meaning out of Christmas". If you, as a private citizen, choose to put up lights, decorate a tree, and wish everyone you see a "merry christmas", that's your right. The only people that are being sued for those things are government agencies (and yes, the airport that took down the trees is a govt regulated facility). People of faiths (and the lack thereof) other than christianity are not trying to take your god from you, they are trying to get the government on, all of its levels, to acknowledge and respect their beliefs. You are afforded the rights to freedom of religion and speech under the constitution on a personal level; the government is not.

If you work for a company (not the government) and the managment/owner would prefer you not specify one holiday, but all with "happy holidays", you still have certain freedoms and choices. You can either concede, and accept the decision; you can still offer up a "merry christmas" (although it could possibly bring about anything from a reprimand to dismissal...and it would be legal); you can quit. You still maintain all of your rights and freedoms.

I do not understand your question, but Christmas is a pagan holiday and not Christian. The tree has a long pagan history. Jeremiah 10:2-5 has a condemnation of God's people learning the ways of the Gentiles and cutting a tree and decorating it.

I have to wonder why Christians get upset over what they feel is their rights when they themselves force their beliefs on others and deman our government does so. Our country was founded on freedom of religion and fredon of speech. Seperation of church and state is very important.

I have no problem with the christmas tree because I am pagan and it is a symbol of my beleifs. However if this country is going to be fair if any symbol of faith is on public lands any religion that wants to be included must have a symbol also, this could get expensive so governments usually just do not have any religious symbols on public land.

Well, seeing as Christian took the "true" meaning out of the celebration of the winter solstice and replaced it with Christmas about a 1000 years ago, I cant figure out why you people are complaining in the first place....

Step away from your religion for just one moment and ask yourself this: If, for the sake of argument, everyone in this country was muslim excelpt for you, would you be okay with Muslims symbols being lplastered all over your public buildings representing you as well as them? Of course you wouldnt - but you dont mind forcing your Christian God on them, do you?
