I most definatly have faith and believe in a higher power. However I have an opiate addiction but i dont do it to rebel against God or cause i feel like committing a sin, its an addiction. Do you believe God understands this and knows that I dont take drugs because i dont want to follow him or anything; I still want to worship him and follow his ways. Drugs is definatly not God's part of God's law. So can I still be true to God even though i have this cunning addiction.

Your saying this is an illness and can't be helped.What would you do if this was a cancer ? Wouldn't you be seeking medical help ? I believe what you say about wanting to serve God and I believe that He does understand you. My son spoke these same words to me for years until he really got serious about serving God,he finally went in for in house treatment. Today he is a counselor in a church and a youth minister.This has taken place in the last year.My son was into using the needle and anything else he could get ahold of.With God and help from Doctors and Counselors my son gained a Victory and now can help others as well. I feel confident you want the same thing in your life.Rest assured Jesus loves you just a much as my son Ben,and God loves him a lot.

It is you who turn from Him in your shame. He won't leave you. You should try turning to AA or NA and letting God be your higher power. That is how I kicked cocaine. I'm also a much better person. My family even trust me with money and codes and such now. God does love you and He is merciful and He will help you with your addiction if you turn your will and life over to Him as you understand Him. Funny though you'll get to know more and more about Him and have more and more peace as time goes by. Make that call to AA or NA and look for a same sex sponsor with similar spiritual beliefs as yours.
May God Bless You with the willingness to seek His love and help with all your problems.

God is consistent you are not. You are still loved whether you behave in a lovable way or not. In Christianity the sin you commit is against the second commandment. You sin against God by putting false gods ahead of him, Opiates. Good luck and may you have the strength to overcome your affliction.

God understands your addiction. There is not a human being on earth who will not die while addicted to some kind of sin. Yours is just socially unacceptable. Do the best that you can, but let God take care of your addiction in his time. For now, you just keep your mind in your heart before God. No one will die sinless - we all depend on God's mercy to forgive us of our sins. Christianity is not about the legal requirements of sin - Jesus already expunged the guilt of every sin that you will ever commit. Your concern is to grow closer in union to God. Your union to God comes first, and sin disappears after that - not vice versa.

Hope this helps. Go read Ezekiel chapter 18, and keep in mind that this chapter was written before Jesus died on the cross. God looks at your intentions.

"Behold, I will never leave you, nor forsake you" -Jesus
however-
Deu 11:26 ¶ Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;
Deu 11:27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:
Deu 11:28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
Deu 11:29 And it shall come to pass, when the LORD thy God hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal.

Bottom line - get help, no more excuses.

no the Bible says "He will never leave you" that said as you correctly pointed out you are committing sin. and God cannot understand that. the Bible says that God turned His back on Jesus when he was crucified, as Jesus asks "my God my God why hast thou forsaken me" and that was because he bore the sins of the world. all that said, you cannot live a proper God fearing life if you are knowingly living in sin. i would suggest quitting, you know it is wrong and it is definately bad for you. dont live a life of hypocrisy. besides that God cannot bless what you are doing.

Hello =)

Remember that Noah was an alcoholic, and, evidently a nudist, when intoxicated.

God had no particular problem with that.

Why should he have a problem with your pain-killers?

If you are feeling guilty, then it is because of something inside of you, and has nothing to do with God.

If you want help, get help, if you don't, and aren't hurting anyone else, then don't.....

I think it matters very little to God.

Namaste, and Happy Holidays,

--Tom

You need help with this addiction. God does not want to to abuse your body. It is your earthly temple and you are destroying it. I was addicted to alcohol for forty years and with God's strength, I was able to break the addiction. I know that He never left me and was with me all the way. I am now finally free. It is amazing what he can do. Please go to this site. God is leading you there through me.
