I agree....
They are the ignorant ones, the ones that go by the media.
There are a lot of Muslim that misunderstand the conecpt of Jihad. And they lack the true understanding and principles of Tawheed-Aqeedah. They don't understand the fiqh. When they are taught something, they just go by it, When really you should do the research to get the information confirmed, if it's authentic or weak-this applies to Hadiths. Also with the Qur'aanic verses. You should use the most appropriate translation. Which is by Muhsin Khan. http://searchtruth.com/chapter_display.php?chapter=1&translator=5&mac=
http://searchtruth.com/chapter_display.php?chapter=1&translator=5
Other translations are dodgey with errors, especially Yusuf Ali's translation. Also for Hadith, I use Muhsin Khans translation. And I'm not sure which translation is this, but it seems authentic.
http://searchtruth.com/searchHadith.php
Also it's the media which is another big problem. As others have mentioned they brainwash everyone!
That's why you get the suicide bombers. Which is against Islaam. I've been called a terrorist by strangers. Why? Those group of Muslims who misunderstoof Jihad, and blew themselves up along of others, gave the whole Muslim nation a bad reputation. And it's the people that do not understand that this is not part of Islaam. The ignorant people, think this is what Islaam teaches. Which is false.
Jihad, often mistranslated as ‘Holy War’ (a popular phrase from the Crusades), actually means: to strive and endeavour in Allaah’s cause. Hence, jihad can be expressed in a purely peaceful way. The Prophet Muhammad had said that:
“The best jihad is by one who strives against (the evil of) his own self for Allaah, the Might and Majestic.’ (at-Tabarani)
Allaah has said:
“So obey no the disbelievers, but make a great jihad against them (by preaching) with this (Qur’aan). (Qur’aan 25:52)
As for suicide bombing, it is forbidden on a number of levels. Firstly, on the crime of suicide itself, the Prophet once warned: Indeed, whoever kills himself will certainly be punished in Hellfire, where he shall dwell in forever.’ (Bukhari & Muslim)
“And do not kill yourselves. Surely Allaah is Most Merciful unto you.” (Qur’aan 4:29)
Suicide attacks also contravene the Islamic principle which states: that which is built upon falsehood itself is falsehood. In other words, the ends cannot justify the means if those means (e.g. self-destruction) are themselves anti-Islamic. Furthermore, suicide attacks almost always result in collective punishments for the wider civilian populous, contravening yet another Islamic principle: fighting evil itself becomes evil if, as a consequence, it leads to more harm.
“And beware the affliction which affects not in particular those of you who do wrong (but may harm innocents as well): And know that Allaah is strict in punishment. (Qur’aan 8:25)
There is more to it, here is the full file for you to download and read, http://rapidshare.com/files/6956517/Jihad__Suicide_and_Terrorism.pdf.html
There are 72 different sects of Muslims. All of them will go to hell, except one. And that sect is the one who follows the Messenger of Allaah, and his Companions- Ahlus-Sunnah Wal Jamaa'.
The different sects have invented things into the religion, or have neglected certains things, this is what makes them leaf astray.
And they will not want to find out the truth. Download these files, and read them!
Well here, read about the Prophet Muhammad, and also about him in the Bible.

I guess it all depends on where you live. It was just a very unfortuantate occurance that the people behind the 9/11 attacks where extremely radical muslims. I believe that now, atleast in the northeast US where i live, that people realize that are Muslims are not terrorists. I think that for the most part people have enough common sense to realize this. It was just a scare that America had soon after the attack and the ongoing war in Iraq. Just as was the case when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Suddenly everybody thought the Japanese Americans where spies. Now, they live as normal Americans. I think we're at that point now where the Muslim-Terrorist connection is kinda old. Every religion always has its extremists who see the world differently than the average person so it is very unfair to accuse a Muslim of being a terrorist. A true Muslim can not be a terrorist.

The reason is obvious, sigh......ok lets go through this again.......since it was muslims that killed so many people in such a horrific way on September 11th, and because Muslims have always held little regard for the United States, that bombing was the straw that broke the camels back as far as our dealings with extremist is concerned....I guess with the terrorist stuff that took place when President Carter was in office and the Iranians took Terry Anderson and all those men along with him hostage for so long due to their hatred of the United States enough is enough and people are now terrified. This is what hatred gets you no matter who its coming from its a vicious cycle. We have laws here on the books that if caught hate crimes are severely punished for the most part with the exception of a few the people here are allowed to worship and live their lives in whatever way they want to, they are not as extreme in their views as the middle eastern people are to the degree that they feel they need to blow up thousands of people because they think and live differently than you or your people do, while your at it ask yourself why do Muslim countries group all Americans together, and they must do it or they wouldn've killed all those innocent people in the world trade center because they were angry with our gov't and their policies, the muslims grouping innocent citizens into one catagory cost them their lives, not all Americans agree with the U.S. government but they were blown up anyway just because they worked for them. in our country we don't have to adhere to the political beliefs of the companies that we work for, and it is illegal to punish an employee if they have different political views as the company, we just to make an honest living to feed our families, and should not have to die for it. Thats the American way, two wrongs don't make a right.. Like I said there have been exceptions such as the KKK and people like Timothy McVeigh. And you see where it got them. Just my opinion.
In Addition: Mr. Stick why don't the good Muslims talk to the clergy or is it the media again that makes it look like the clergy condone the killings as well? Why don't the entire nation of Islam get together and hold a national press conference and speak out against so called bad ones and the clergy that is feeding their bad rendition of the Quaran. Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt sit quietly and say nothing on a grand scale to let us know that they are wrong for what they are doing. Close down those masjids and arrest those clergy that support this stuff. Blair and Bush are always all over the t.v. I think we should hear from the leaders of the countries where alot of these terrorist come from and say to us what you just said and denounce them on public television, and radio that would keep us so called ignorant ones from believing what the media tells us.

People accuse Muslims of being terrorists for the same reason that some people accuse black people of being thugs, that some people accuse southern whites as being racist, that most white people now a days accuse Hispanic/Latinos of being illegal immigrants, and why you say "people accuse every Muslim as a terrorist". It is usually easier to lump groups of people into stereotypes (that are almost always wrong) than to identify individual characteristics for individual people. We all do it. And it's no better when I say "we all do it" because I'm making a categorization that isn't necessarily true. Human nature, I suppose.

Someone said last year that not Muslim is a terrorist but every terrorist is a Muslim. It was an interesting thought. Remember that's all that is reported on the news is terrorism that is perpetrated by Muslims. Also, Muslims are like everyone else most a good but only the bad make the news.

People in the west are scared, and many think the mainstream media is an accurate source of encyclopedic information.
I accuse NO Muslim of being a terrorist. I accuse terrorists of being terrorists.

I don't think the majority of people do, but in a way this is yet another survival instinct. Let's say you're out in the woods one day and you get bitten by a snake that makes you really sick for weeks. Years later, you see another snake that looks similar to the one that bit you. Do you think you're going to just go over and pick it up and play with it?
Now people are a lot smarter than they use to be thousands of years ago. We can look at a person that resembles someone that did something horrible and totally realize "Hey, this isn't the same person." But there will always be that little caveperson voice in the back of you head saying "Yeah, but you better keep an eye on that one. Remember the snake?"

These people find it easier to group others together, instead of recognising that the fanatics are a troublesome lot, regardless of which religion. They are usually a loud minority. Therefore the people who you say accuse every Muslim of being a terrorist have probably never travelled or read books.
