I'm the Marine Major who answered your other question... The only way this person could possibly be an officer without a degree is if that person was a warrant officer. The Marine Corps has a minimum requirement of 6 years time in service, rank of sergeant (E-5), and at least one year's time in grade as a sergeant. The majority of sergeants who apply are not accepted. There isn't a Marine alive, past, or present who makes or made $80k a year in the Corps with only 6 years in service. Whoever this person is, he is feeding you a line, do not fall for it. Not only am I a Marine officer, I am a Marine lawyer. I came from the enlisted ranks and I've been in 17 years, 11 as an officer. With my proficiency pay and time in service, I don't make $80k a year.

Without a degree, he is not an officer making 80,000. If he is a Marine who has been in 6 years, he is either a Sgt. or Staff Sgt. and making about 30,000 a year. Even if he were an officer, in 6 years he wouldn't be any higher than a Capt. and at 6 years, he would only be making 54,000.
Sounds to me like he is full of it!

1. Yes.
2. Hardly...not enough time in and rank would only equal a lower rank office, Lt.
3. Sounds like you are being given a heap load of garbage from some guy. A con man or a pathological liar.
The guys that make the most are mercenaries from Blackwater...they dress as civilians.

having read your previous question, it sounds as though someone is feeding you a load of bilge.
If you feel like calling his bluff, ask to see his DD 214. *If* in fact he has one, it will tell you what branch of service, how many years, the pay grade he held when he left, and whether his discharge was honorable (or not).
