This was the second bout in the last month. It has been pretty bad and she did it to "clean out his GI Tract"

Why can your dog not eat for 24 hours? My dog had the misfortune of contacting coccidia a few months back and she was not restricted from eating. What reason does your vet give?

I had this happen to my dog once-------the dr gave him stuff call the vet and ask if it is ok for the dog to have a small bite of food say every three hoours---just a bite to curve the hunger

I have never heard of not feeding as part of treatment for Coccidia. Our dog had it when we adopted her, and I'm pretty sure they treated it with sulfa drugs. I know that you need to disinfect everything - but I've never heard of withholding food.

Keep him busy with walks and play time. It will be hard.
