No, highly educated men do not come across as gay simply because they don't belch, talk loud or behave like obnoxious boors. The come across as gay only if they are men who are attracted to other men.
I happen to know some homosexuals who belch, talk loud, and behave like obnoxious boors. Does this mean they come across as "straight?"

Men who sleep with other men come across as gay.
Everything else is just a bad stereotype. Not everyone thinks that educated men are gay. And many gay men belch, talk loud, and are obnoxious boors.

And here's a news flash, gay men can belch, talk loud and behave like obnoxious boors just like straight men.
Most people understand that, and wait til they get to know you better before finding out who you sleep with.

I completely agree with bearcruis... Unless a man is sexually involved with another man, he is NOT gay. Keeping yourself clean, and following etiquettes is not GAY. Belching in public or in a private or social group is not a good etiquette, unless everyone does that for fun in a party or relaxed occasion.
I have heard this issue many times from people. Just because you keep yourself trim, clean and neat and dont' smell like a street trash beer belly dipshit doens't make you gay.
But on the other hand, you if wear pink shirts, and shiny tight half t-shirts showing your belly and wear tight leather pants or shiny silky stuff, you're only confusing people. Even though you're not gay, you're just confusing the straight people. Gay men would know right away that you're not gay. They can easily tell you apart. Only the straight people have difficulty, mostly because they're either just stereotyping poeple or homophobic and they want to take it out on you.
But wearing something like that, do confuse straight people. It's like dressing like a Cop and if someone comes to you for help, you say, you're just dressed like a cop, but you're not a real Cop.
It just confuses poeple too much. So don't do anything that aggressive.
I've seen a lot of straight men , go to fashion shows and so on. They like to dress well, but not to the extent of being confused by people.
Although we say, we have the right to do what you want, there is something call social etiquette that we need to comply to avoid or lessen confusion.
I've even seen some women on the streets dressed like a prostitute. Some of friends, really belived so, and tried asking for service, only to find out the hard way they're not. See again, it's just confusing when you pass a point of no return.

No offense but, you spelled boors wrong...it's bores. If you're "highly educated," you would know that. Then again, what do you consider "highly educated?" I don't think well-educated men come across as gay, and I can't imagine why you would think that.

No. Do highly educated women come across as being lesbian? Being highly educated has no bearing on how you are perceived sexually. Having good manners is not exclusive to 'gays' or 'highly educateds'. Although I can see where your question stems from, in reality, people aren't usually that shallow to just jump to conclusions regarding your personal lifestyle based on your educational level. They will, however, jump to a conclusion regarding your social skills based on your behaviors. So be educated, be socially skilled and be nice to others no matter what their sexual orientation.

Well, I know some highly educated men who are gay, but I wouldn't feel threatened at all by an educated man. It sounds like you are somehow using this question to get back at someone who rejected you. Don't worry about it; life's too short.

We? Are you one of them?
No, I find that SOME highly educated men behave in a socially acceptable fashion. While SOME act like bores. I also find some not so highly educated me act socially acceptable, and some of the same that are bores.

actually it is boor. it means someone who is crass, rude, or crude.
bore means someone who is boring, which, if you are at all educated (you referring to whoever posted the comment saying it was supposed to be bore) you would know makes no sense here

Some do, and some don't. But unless you're walking around being "fabulous" you should be fine. I'm very good friends with an extremely intelligent professor, and trust me, he could never come across as gay.
