The theory that ignoring a guy will get him more interested doesn't work on all guys. I should know. I'm a guy and when a girl starts ignoring me and assume she's not interested and move on. I suggest using this technique as a last resort.
I also suggest you ask him to a movie or to eat and talk to him. Usually the conversation will reach a point that will give you your answer.

Well, first off, how can you ask "how do you get a guy to like you when he's not sure?" when you don't know if he's not sure in the first place?
But as for your second question, you find out if a guy likes you by seeing how he acts around you, does he seem like he likes you? Does he ask you to go places? Does he call you? How does he treat you? Sometimes though, it's better just to tell him how you feel and if these signs are appearing, then if you tell him you care for him he probably will back.
Really though, just chill and everything will work itself out. If two people actually like each other, love will find a way. (as corny as that sounds)
personal experience, trust me, a lot of guys are just shy and need time to tell you themselves, if you rush it, it might turn out bad.

If he goes out of his way to spend time with you... if you catch him making furtive glances at your girly bits....
And sometimes - if he seems a bit nervous around you...
As for getting a guy to like you... outfits that display your 'assets' are always good - and demonstrating and interest in what he likes... guys love to the the 'superior' expert on things... so they can parade their brilliance before the girls...
I know, sounds lame, but guys need serious ego stroking... (as well as other kinds of stroking...) we're lame that way.

You can't make him like you... ummm, because you pretty much can't make anybody like anybody anyway.
Advice:
Be yourself. If he ends up not liking you when you are yourself, it's best that you both find out early.
If he likes you, he'll stick around when his other friends have something else that they like to do together.
If you like him, SOMETIMES you'll send him away so he can keep those friends. If he likes you, he'll always come back!
I'm glad to see you like him for reasons other than his looks... good luck in life... you're a good 'un!

About finding out what he likes, just listen to what he talks about. If he's not a talker, wait, and that may change as he gets to know you.

If a guy likes you he likes you. You can't do tricks to make a guy like you. If he says he's not sure...that means NO! Unless you wanna become a circus act for guys attention, I suggest that you just be yourself and guys will like you "for YOU".

You can't get a guy to like you if he doesn't. either he does or he doesn't. Why not ask your friends to find out if he likes you.

i dont think you can get a guy to like you.. he probably doesnt feel like you two have anything in common.. just wiat for him to decide because you wouldnt want him to go out with you just because he cant get you off of him .. be patient..
