Why are you taking tylenol 3 before your surgery?? Is it due to impaction pain?? Anyway yes itchiness is a side effect of many narcotics..I am severly allergic to codeine and I had the same reaction to morphine and demoral..it was so bad that I rubbed skin off my face in my sleep, and had hallucinations. You can develop an allergy to anything at anytime..even to things you have been eating or taking for years. See if the dentist can switch you..they make a synthetic codeine that might work for you, I was able to take it without any trouble

Could be. Tylenol 3's contain codeine. Lots of people have reactions to it. Many narcotics can cause itching. If you can, try taking reg. Tylenol. Make sure to tell your oral surgeon about the itching. Could make a difference in the type of anesthetic you receive. Also, there are alternatives to T-3 if you have a reaction like this.

Yes ! You should call your Dentist or MD ASAP to get a different pain reliever. Stop taking the T#3's,and take a Benadryl OTC to counter-act the allergic reaction itching. Its possible that upper-airway swelling could land you in the ER.Hope you call someone to night, even a Poison Control Hot-line could help. Good luck......... SW RNP

i am not completly sure but u should look on the back of the bottle or package or whatever and it should tell u the symptoms of taking the T3. if should tell u weither it is serious or not and weather u should stop using it and see a doctor.
If so i would go to the doctor and have an allergy test. U could be allergic to something that u never even know about. that happened to me once, i had never been allergic to cats and then all the sudden i started sneezing whenever i would go around them. so u should get tested.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you might be developing an allergy to the codeine.
Call your doctor, don't take anymore until you get an answer from the doctor's office.
Codeine allergies are common and can become severe.
Sorry, should have added, Tylenol #3's are Tylenol with Codeine.

It's not a side effect, it is an allergic reaction. more than likely you are developing a reaction to the codeine. If you are over medicating, that could cause it to. Drug allergies are serious. You need to stop taking it until you get in touch with your Dr. He may need to put you on something else.

THe site I've mentioned has a link (near the bottom of the page) to information about drugs. It's in plain language and it's comprehensive.
Don't forget to let your doctor know about this.

How much Tylenol?!? Tylenol, acetametophin, can cause serious liver problems if not taken as directed on the box. This is some kind of reaction, please go see a doctor or go to Urgent Care immediately.
