I was raised Southern Baptist and was constantly being told what a sinner I was, how God hated sinners, how I better shape up or I was going to Hell. Sheesh! I was only a little kid and I can remember the chandeliers in the church shaking. The end came when I was 10. I was baptized weared nothing but a filmy white cotton gown; underneath I was completely nude and I had to be dunked in a giant aquarium in front of the congregation.

When I was 14, I attended a Catholic Mass with a friend, I was awed and humbled by the beauty. The priest never once told me I was sinner, there was no chandelier to shake, and he never once screamed. I was in love. I spent many years after that examining other religions. Finally, when I was 29, I was baptized into the Catholic faith. I'm 56 and have remained faithful. Do the people in my church do bad, hypocritical things? You bet. But my faith is not in the priests or bishops, it is in the doctrine. PS - I tell people that I am "a recovering Baptist" !!

I wasn't one thing. My mom was Catholic and my dad Jehovah's Witness. So growing up I had to look at both these religions and it was hard not to see how different they were. I thought the Jehovah's Witnesses were to strict all though they followed the Bible. Catholics seemed to be odd also. Like I could never understand how it was that they thought that kissing the popes ring was helping them. Or bowing down to him. On Easter he had people wash his feet.(I remember thinking to my self that the pope missed the whole meaning behind Jesus washing the feet of his men.) Then most of the people that I new that went to church did what ever they wanted the min they left. To much hypocrisy.
Then the Jehovah's Witnesses well at the time they were just to strict. I couldn't find any thing wrong in the teaching that they did. (and trust me I tried) I all ways said though that they at least lived by the bible and when they have been wrong they have changed.
Now I am happy to say that I am a Jehovah's Witness. I am glad that growing up I got to see both sides of things it helped tremendously when I had to make the choice as to what I was going to raise my boys in.

I was raised Catholic but by the time I reached College I began to seriously have doubts. But upon getting my BS I began to do my research into Evolution. The more I studied the theories of Evolution the more it became apparent that there is a creator. Life is too complex to have happened by chance.

So now I'm a Christian once again and my faith has never been stronger.

i replaced into born and raised Catholic. Attended Catholic college. in a while, I grew to change into an Evangelical, Born back Christian. I latched on to the anti-faith doctrine and began to objective Catholics. This replaced into many years in the past, at the same time as Catholic bashing replaced into nonetheless mainstream interior the Protestant international. maximum Protestant Christian's do not glom on to the antagonistic doctrine. basically those with complications; like me. finally, my courting with Christ must have some kind of helpful result on me. I supply up targeted on different Christians and grew to change into my decrease back on the doctrine and the Evangelical move that made it accessible to me. It took a lot of years to develop sufficient braveness to face as a lot as what i replaced into and how I used Christ as a weapon. those many years later, the anti-faith move is an wealth generating market, led with the help of adult males with severe, documented topics. The Roman Catholic church is hands off now, the guns are aimed in course of Witnesses, Mormons and extra lately Muslims. the position ever the cultural mores enable, that's the position bigotry is vented. i'm a Christian back. Wiser than i replaced into. And sorry to work out most of the Christian international status aside at the same time as their friends relentlessly harass, demean and degrade those with out different choose than to worship God because the Spirit dictates to them. STs!

From what the world taught me about, I grew into the faith I have now.

I searched a lot of different religions before I came to realize all I needed was God, His Son, His word and myself.
