Isn't it ironic? Being the "best male friend" to several women, but not getting one of them to date you?
Is "being nice" a bad thing?

Well, I'm not a young one. I'm 37. And I've been to the wedding of most of my friends already. I'm not scared to make the first move. but it has never worked.
On the plus side, I really like playing with my friends' kids and teaching them about science.

Women are attracted to a certain type of guy. Not necessarily a jerk, but a dominant kind. Not overly possesive, this is really bad and will give you a bad reputation. It also depends on your age, when women get older they know more what they're after, while they're younger it's almost the same as us guys. Being a friend with a girl you like is horrible, I know. My current girlfriend use to be my friend and I was in the exact same situation as you are. It's best if you express interest in them from the get-go. And now, just tell them how you feel about them, they may come around. It takes a while and it sucks. The best thing to do, is not ever be just friends. If you haven't kissed yet, don't hug. Cuddling is fine, but don't hug. If you are around a girl enough without trying to get with them they start seeing you as an almost completely non-sexual being, like family or their dog. I suggest watching "Just Friends" with them. It might be akward, but it will get the point across.

I could ask the same question about why some women get along great with male friends, but can never find a boyfriend.

Unfortunately in some situations yes....most girls tend to be more attracted to jerks and guys who are not so nice....Girls want to be best friends with a nice guy because they truly admire them and even in some cases think that the guy is too good for them because of their past relationships with jerks....but dont think that the girl has not thought about being with you...you represent what true love is about and evenutally being that best friend will be exactly what they want one day.

nicely you probably did over-react slightly lol, yet you do care approximately her lots from what i can work out, so its time-honored for adult adult males to try this. If I have been you i could've continuously made plans while she desires to hold out with him, or consistent with danger ask if she would be able to introduce you to her team of friends, this way you will possibly be open approximately it, and likewise meet new people and make new friends, and maximum critically make him understand that she is taken.

It's fine, maybe they're not ready for a boyfriend, or they just see you as a friend and not more. If you flirt and keep being their friend, they might warm up to you one day.

one is a good friend to many girls, but not many are interested in him as a boyfriend.
