Knowing is not a part of dealing with God. Belief is all there can be when it comes to God. My belief is that some people think God (he, she, they and it) is wrathful because they see bad things happening to people. I believe that the bad things that happen to people are part of life's lessons, so I don't consider it wrath. I consider it love for taking the time to teach us lessons. Concurrently, mercy falls into this same set of beliefs only on the opposite side. God is sun. God is also moon, earth, stars, air, water, plants, animals. God is everything that life is about.

That's a matter of faith.
If we believe God is merciful, then we can believe our world is merciful. We can believe that we should be merciful to others.
And there really isn't any way to prove it, anyway.

He gave his only son to die for us so we don't have to go to hell for our sins. That's a lot of mercy if you ask me.
