Faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you can not see. It isn't that God no longer exists, it is that people have a hard time believing in what they can not see. But you believe in the wind and you can't see wind. you can see the effects of it, just like God.

Because He is true and He is there.
There is no conclusive evidence that proves God does not exist. Scientists and evolutionists cannot prove it. In fact, many of their theories support the existence of God. Admittedly, there are many that contradict it, but if you study philosophy (I do) then you'll realise that each theory on debates like cosmology, teleology, design etc on the creation of the world, and arguments about miracles and the existence of God always has a gap - what came first? Nothing comes from nothing therefore there must be some supreme being - ie a God.
There's the sum up of the problems of most 'deny God' arguments in philosophy!
On a personal level a belief in God is fulfilling. It provides purpose, gives people moral codes and there are many good things come from belief in God. For example charities.
As a Christian, I believe that goodness comes from God, therefore there is a lot to be thankful to Him for. He deserves our praise and acknowledgment, not our censure and denial.

A person has to believe in God, just by the existence of this earth. The perfection of its creation is not by coincidence, are you saying its a once in a lifetime shot that the earth came into existence? My friend God exits, life cannot come from nothing or inorganic matter. If God doesn't exist we are no more than intelligent animals, we have no purpose, and everything that exists screams intelligent design.

Some people have actually had a supernatural experience with God, some have had miracles happen that left the Doctors stumped. Some have been touched by the hand of God and been healed of horrible disease's.
I'm sorry you have not had any experience with God, but many have and they are real.
You never know maybe someday you will have one of these experiences, then you will know that there really is a God.
HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR !

Because God does exist. Why don't YOU get a life, wake up and realise that you were created by God!

If you want to know if God exists, whose name will you call upon if you are seriously ill and in a lot of pain?
We, the Religious people already have a life which was given to us by God.
Look at your own body, the way it was designed by God, two eyes, two arms, two legs, two breasts, two nostrils, two ears, two feet, five fingers on each hand, five toes on each foot, etc, then ask yourself where would you be if the BEING you serve had only given you one of EACH.

It is people just like you that died in the flood.. You may believe what you want now, but in the end you will be faced with the truth. People will always believe in God because he is real and our loving father. You will believe what you like here on earth and then will fall into the hands of a God that you will not be able to deny and he will do with you as he pleases, but first he will show you how much he loved you and what he did to try and convince you of his love.

ok, for sake of argument lets say there is no God but our recent advancements in science has given us a bag bang theory which explains the creation of world that says that there exists some vital force that has controlled that explosion so accurately that a human brain can't even imagine and that external controlling force was out of that scenario i.e. exist somewhere else not in that scope of universe. how will you explain that vital force.

I believe that god actually symbolizes something positive and good, but over the years people have corrupted it to fit their own needs and wants. God is good, he does not punish or reward. The whole fire and brimstone stuff is just a scare tactic to control people. Deep down inside I think people just want to follow something that is virtuous, but they are just a bit confused.

When this subject comes up, I often recall the scene in "The Wizard of Oz" where Dorothy, Lion, Scarecrow, and Tin Man are in the Palace of Oz. The Great Oz is going on and on acting malevolently while the visitors are quivering in fear. They fear what they see and what they believe is real. Sort of like how people wig out when a mouse scurries across the floor. Anyway, I think of that scene and see myself as Toto when he runs up to the curtain and pulls it away to reveal the true Oz for what he is - ordinary, and not what people make him out to be.
It never ceases to amaze me how seemingly intellingent people choose to believe in something so steadfastly as to ignore logic and place themselves in fear of something that isn't there. Kind of like children who still think the boogeyman is in the closet after they are shown time and again that it isn't the case.
