They last for a long time. You can actually wrap them and freeze them too. I do this when I buy them at Costco and when they thaw out they are just as soft as when they were fresh.

If they've gone bad you'll know by the look and feel.
Stale (not moldy or spoiled) tortillas make great dog treats, my dogs favorites! I once had a dog that preferred tortillas above anything else. She was a rotten theif, and came home with fresh costco bags of tortillas more than once. I have no idea where she got these things because I just don't have that many neighbors...

If they're only dryish and leathery, they can be used but normally these stale corn tortillas are torn up and re-heated in a sauce for chilaquiles (which can also incorporate shredded chicken, shredded cheese or whatever). But stale corn tortillas will soften up just a little if you re-heat them, and you can use them for tacos if you want. Don't use them if they have any mold or are dampish, obviously, or if you warm one up and taste it and it just tastes unpleasant.

They sure do. When they just start to go bad, they taste a bit sour (like bread does before molding.) If there's no mold on them taste a few of them before cooking I think 2 weeks should be fine, the worst that can happen is a a bit of diahrrea.

Try corn tortillas. But the tortilla itself isn't going to make you fat or ruin your diet.

If you can't see mold and if they don't have a slimy/wet feel to them I would say you're safe. Eat up though because they might get a little soggy soon.
