I'm very good at detecting that, lol.
Well, if he's not a good liar, it will be obvious the longer you talk to him. But most if the time, it takes time. The more you know him, the better you''ll be able to detect that. Watch when he talks to you abt other people. If he likes to lie to others, then most probably he can lie to you also for any reason.

If you know the man well, you can look for little body gestures such as eye contact, etc. which indicate truthfulness or lies.
There is also the consideration of whether or not he has lied to you before? If he occassionally lies, then he's probably lying again.
And last but not least, if you are at all intuitive, all you need to do is to relax, close your eyes (almost like being in a meditation) and ask yourself in your heart of hearts if he is sincere? If you do this right you will certainly get your answer.

There are more extensive and expensive things to do but I've found this one very simple and inexpensive way that has 'enlightened' me many times over and been well worth the $25. Plant a "voice activated" recording device in the room or part of the house he plants himself most frequently. You'll soon find out what he's up to (making plans on the phone, etc.) when you're not around. You won't always like what you learn. I live w/a pathological liar whose day is coming. He lies straight thru his *%$#@! teeth. It makes me SICK! Good luck!

To be honest, if he tells one lie, then often he has to cover that with another lie. It becomes an endless chain of lies after a while. His challenge would be to remember all the lies, and often they won't. That is where you catch them, and can tell for a fact that they're lying. This is true in both men and women. Best of luck to you.

the best way to catch a man in a lie or if he is cheating he will do some very stupid things
1. if he asks you ARE YOU CHEATING chances are he is already cheating on you and is trying to switch it around so he looks like the victom in all of this.
2. when a man is lying to you sometimes the seem to forget who they have made as their alibies are and their story changes threw out the converstations
or best one yet
3. when he does get cought lying and he trys to cover it up you can easily slip him up when he says I DIDN'T GET MUCH SLEEP ask WAS SHE ANY GOOD it throws them off gard and there answer sounds more like this
YES NO UMM WHAT DO YOU MEAN it is very amousing to hear and you know he is lying....

I always trust my gut instincts - women usually have a sixth sense for these things. Most men (not all) tell lies they cannot help it but if you are with a guy and you don't trust him then that relationship is going nowhere. Get him to look you in the eye when you ask him a question!

if ya think he's cheating on you, follow him. Then you will know for sure. Other than that, take notice if his behavior has changed drastically about certain things. Watch his eyes. Liars dont usually like to make DIRECT eye contact for extended periods. (When my EX started cheating on me he had every excuse in the world to go places alone that we used to go to together......"It'll take you too long to get ready" or "I'm just running in for a minute, why waste your time going along" etc. and all the while he was meeting someone else.)

WATCH men-women-childrens EYES. Its studied that people who look off to the their RIGHT (your left) while speaking is tapping into their creative, make-believe world and LISTEN for more than 3-second long pauses and alot of and's, uhs and 'stall' words for thought, especially listen for OVERSTATEMENTS (ie, they VOLUNTEER alot of information on every thing but the subject you're on VS those who can look straight into your eyes or THEIR left or past you and articulating CLEARLY their answer/s on any question/s you have.

if he is saying something with a stupid smirk on his face...then he is lying.
If he doesn't look at you directly when he is talking about an important issue...then he lying.
