It seems, he is more of a spiritual being if that is what you mean. To answer, I don't know that isn't a substanceless creature. Maybe he has a ton of substance, I guess we would have to know more of what you mean. For a "substanceless" creature, he sure created a lot! So, it would be because of his current choice of what "state" to be in . Hope this helps a little.

Considering that the scriptures say he had a physical body that walked, talked, eat, died and rose again, he must have had some type of substance.
