I don't think you can correct it except by adding a lot more tomato's and water or just throwing it away and starting over. I heard that potato's can take out extra salt of certain things, but I don't think it will work in tomato sauce. You can try it.

Add tomato paste and water, or unsalted tomato sauce, then add whatever other spices (besides salt) that you normally would to the sauce. A bit of sugar might also help.

Add one carrot and one peeled potato while cooking, it will absorb some of the salt, and help to sweeten the sauce. If it is VERY salty, you may have to dilute it by adding more tomato.

I've heard that putting a potato in for a while will help, the potato (peeled) is suposed to absorb some of the salt.

I would say its ruined now unless you watered it down or added a bunch more sauce to the batch...maybe a bit of sugar or something mat help to cut the salt.

I remember reading somewhere that you can put a raw potato in the sauce and it will absorb the extra salt.

If you put in 10 times the amount of salt, go add 10 times all the other ingredients. Or, dump it.

Add several pieces of raw potato, sliced. They absorb salt. Leave them in a while, remove and taste. Repeat if necessary.

You can always add to a recipe but never take away. Be careful and start all over.
