The cable man is coming to my place, should I leave him a tip? If yes, how much?

No, he is being paid by the company already. If you want to be nice, you can offer him a glass of water or a Coke while he works.
A tip is only warranted if he goes far above and beyond his duties to help you out.

Probably not. You should only tip certain people, such as underpaid service people. But I have never heard of tipping trades people. It would be like tipping the plumber or electrician. I think if there's an argument for tipping the cable guy then there's an argument for tipping everyone.

Nope. It's usually against company rules for the cable person to take money even if offered.
Besides, they probably make more than you do. And they get free cable.

Tip your cable guys people! They work long hours and get dirty and climb dangerous things. They're not the one your paying each month. They just install or rewire or uninstall. Their boss gets paid by the cable company not them. They don't even get benefits. Their bosses make them pay for gas and miles for company car. It really adds up to sh** but works work.

since most companies already charge you for the guy to go to your place you dont have to. but if you want just $5-$10.
