As has been stated, this can be answered correctly only if you tell us the state in which the offense occurred. In California, first degree attempted murder (yes, there is such a crime) is punishable by an indeterminate life term, with parole possible after seven years. (Cal. Penal Code section 664, subd. (a).)

I don't think there is such a thing as 1st degree attempted murder. In the criminal law, attempted murder is committed when the defendant does an act that is more than merely preparatory to the commission of the crime of murder and, at the time of these acts, the person has a specific intention to kill. As an attempt this typically is an indictable-only offense, which usually carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment, depending on your state laws.

The penalty for attempts frequently is the same as if the act was committed, with the exception of capital punishment. It could go as much as life but 10 - 25 is pretty typical.

It depends on the person. A first time offender may get 15 years, depending on the state where the crime was committed.
A third time offender will get life, unless and until the Supreme court nullifies "three strike" rules in states that have such laws.

15 -25 yrs most likely because it was pre-meditated. Out in 10 if he's lucky. Just a guess because each state and judge is different.

Depends on the state and the exact charge!
No one can answer this except in their state and only if the statute is the same!
