why not blend the two? many artists have used their love of music to spread a religious message. hip-hop is a diverse and lively kind of music- there's no need to confine yourself to working with music you find offensive or un-Christian.

I think perhaps they feel that way because of all the corruption. But, to be honest there is corruption everywhere, it is up to you to keep yourself pure and untainted by the world, know what I mean? However, be careful of the situations you put yourself in, if there is a great deal of temptation - more than you can handle, then you might want to rethink it.
Any person who influences something for the good...is a GOOD thing... so, you can have a ministry in hip hip I am sure, if you are dedicated to it. This is your path...choose, and God will direct your steps.

Join or start a Christian hip hop band (they do exist).

Or ditch the Christianity.

Either way works. Good luck with the career, dedicate your first album to me.

The two can be combined, Kanye West comes to mind. I have to admit though, I find it rather amusing when I hear some of the most hardcore rappers crediting God and Jesus for their success. Yes I'm sure Jesus is rappin along on songs about pole dancers and smackin that a$$ and God is thrilled about R Kelly's thing for underage girls. I could be wrong though.

There is Christian hip hop, why don't you check into it? The lyrics would be cleaner.
