The digital tuner bit means that you don't need to plug a set-top box into it to receive the splendid digital channel output.

I'm not sure if they also have an analogue tuner, I don't think they do, so make sure you can receive digital signals otherwise it won't work quite how you'd like it to.

Itis the part that lets you get channels on the TV without an additional tuner such as a VCR or cable box. Some do not come with tuners

All new LCD TVs have digital tuners. If you are wanting to get HDTV, you will need an HD tuner or HD TV.

a digital tuner is more commonly referred to as freeview
