If it has nothing to do with fact, it is not, in fact, truth. As a lie, it has no value as far as I'm concerned.

Religious people use faith to defend their religion. They can't understand why I don't believe in illogical events such as the parting of the red sea, jesus coming to life etc... These events defy logic, they do not question it at all. So it is my conclusion that you are correct, they are not concerned with truth, they only wish to defend their religion. That is its value.

Some people are satisfied with only proven facts, but what about the unexplainable things and unanswerable questions...? You don't think mystery has any value? It keeps us from going insane from boredom...

its FAITH... just ask any devout believer in all the aspects of Human Evolution and genetics (more or less) about their ABSOLUTE TRUTH... when they muster up, to them, a valid explanation you can guarantee some other philosopher rebuts the previous idea.

You are incorrect. Many or even most religions have a moral background that can be "proven" with philosophy and science.
