Its not necessarily bad if you have been eating more because of the depression and if you've been eating more due to kicking smoking. If you've notice little if any change in your diet there could be other reasons. Usually with a gain like that, your medical provider would do some blood test. The most likely medical cause is some type of thyroid dysfunction. You should see a doctor and see what he thinks.

Usually when people quit smoking it can affect their body and you can end up gaining weight. Also you say that you've been depressed have you noticed if you've been overeating cause of your depression? Gaining that much weight in that little of time is just unhealthy so just start dieting and exercising regularly and most of that weight should go away. Good luck!

Yes...especially if you are in winter months. I am the same. I always gain in the winter and loose in spring. I am the type of person who must have the sun to be happy. I draw my energy from the sun .There is a type of depression to wear you get depressed only in the winter months. I, Myself, have gained 15 pounds in two months. I need to drop weight soon. Too bad you do not live close because I need a workout buddy or a wlaking buddy everyday to keep me energetic and fit.

yes...esp if u r quitting smoking. also u r depressed b/c u r quitting...trying taking some vitamin B12 before you start going on anti-depressants and stuff. When you quit smoking your body for whatever reason is void of B12 and that's what makes you depressed. Once you replenish the B12 you'll feel more energized and then loose the weight. Trust me on this...i gained 15lbs after 4 mos of quitting... i still smoke...but i was talking with my personal trainer about it. he went into a loooong explanation but to sum it up take B12 oh and B6.

I would suggest a cleansing diet. I did this and lost 12 pounds and 19 inches in 9 days. I continued and lost 29 pounds in a month. I like the program since it works by giving your body nutrition through protein shakes with digestive enzymes and vitamins and then cleansing out the toxins. We get toxins in our bodies from pesticides, preservatives, water, pollution, medications, food additives etc…. These toxins enter our bodies and get stored in our fat cells. To shrink the fat, we need to get rid of the toxins through cleansing. The program also has a natural diet pill to help your metabolism and curb cravings. It works and it works fast. My skin has improved from the cleansing. You can get more info at this toll free number 1-877-587-4647. It is pricey but worth it! I think cleansing is really important to health and weight loss. Give it a try and good luck! http://thebestcleansingdiet.com
