I think even if Honda doesn't go Cup racing, they have to be looking at it pretty closely and watching how Toyota handles the whole situation. Maybe someday we'll see a Hyundai on the Nascar circuit.

Toyota spent years getting acclamated into Nascar via the Truck series. Honda has made no attempt to get a foot in the door. Both have issues with negative connotations to foreign brands in a "good old boy" sport.

Actually I think Honda is already on the path of doing so. They started Manufacturing full size pick-up trucks in the US. They have be manufactured at least one year in the US before consideration, then of course they have to build a truck within the published NASCAR specs and present it to NASCAR R&D for approval then the following year they can start racing.

to be part of NASCAR the vehicle has to have so much of the vehicle built in the USA. Toyota is now allowed because the truck is built here (and Ford helps).
Honda does not do either of this yet so NO they won't be racing anytime soon.

It's possible. It's always been Honda vs. Toyota for everything: Civic/Corolla, Accord/Camry, CR-V/RAV4, Fit/Yaris, Ridgeline/Tacoma, IRL, CART, F1, etc...

The Camry is America's best selling (midsize) car and the Car of the Year for several American car magazines. I don't think Honda's gonna stay put.

Honda seems happy going round and round in the IRL in front of no fans.....no reason to spend lots of money on Nascar. They decided instead to expand into ALMS with "Acura" brand.

With all that $$$$$$$ laying out there in the form of advertising loot, I would imagine all manufactures would like to get in,but then their would be a shortage of top flight drivers.Toyota will find this out shortly.
