First, your body will think it's starving (because it IS), and will slow down your metabolism.
The lack of nutrients will throw your body into a tailspin. Your body might begin to eat its own muscle, not only fat, to survive. Do you want your body to devour your heart muscle, for instance?
There is not enough room to even begin to talk about electrolyte imbalances, heart arrhythmias, etc.
Please be good to your body and adopt a program of exercise, and healthy food like lean meats and proteins, low fat dairy, and fruits and vegetables. Drink a lot of water.
If you exercise, you will be toned and not just thin.

I believe you already knew the answer to your question!
You will lose weight about 50 or so lbs. after the mortician embalms you! Your so called friends did not go without eating for 1 month, They may have not been eating very much or taking some type of laxitives or something, but really how smart is that? You have to chose a plan that you can LIVE with for the rest of your LIFE! friends would not lie to you or give you that kind of advice. Join a exercise club and Get new friends, at least these ones will be more of a friend cause they will know exactly what you have been going thru, and you will see results as you do it the RIGHT WAY!
Go to the library and study up on the human body and its nutritional needs, that in itself will curb your appetite and your so called friends will not follow you there, they don't seem to bright to want to read anyway. This will give you some you time to think about YOUR LIFE!

well that is very dangerous and not the smart accurate way to diet. i learned abotu the "fasting: diets in psychology and in my college health classes....
this is a good way to develop the serious eating disorder anorexia nervosa.
not eating for a month is extrememly unhelathy for your body. you are not giving your bady the nutrients its needs so it can essentually shut down alltoegther..
also after this "one month"is up. when you do eaty somethign your body will hold all of the calories it needs and you will just go back to how you were possibly even gainmore weight since your metabolism will be slowed down so much once you put somethgin in your stomach after supposidly not eating for a month your body will literally be like "OMG FOOD! I NEED ALL THE CALORIES FROM THIS" and you will go back to your normal weight. you gaining weight then will only cause you not to eat again... this leads to anorexia nervosa and you will only be able to get over this by going to therapy....
yes there are serious medical conditions to this so called "diet" its not even a diet its basically starving yourself.
but also it could give you mesnstral problems. you hair can think and fall out. you can develop osteoperosis. and many other complications
the best hting is you want to diet is to portoin your food, make healthy food choices liek instead of reaching for the potatoe chips reach for a box of wheat thin. or if you feel liek ice cream grab some non fat yogurt. this is the healthies thing to do. and so what if other peopel have done it. it will only get you into trouble in the long run adn you will most liekely develop th serious eating disorder anorexia nervosa, or bulimia nervosa..
diet and exercise yeah you wont get the results fast but you wil be alot better off in the long run. i hope you make the right choice and not follow your friends and fellow classmates and diet and exercise..
it doesnt matter if it for a month or a couple weeks. you are still depriving your body of essential nutrients it needs...
portion your meals eat 6 meals a day. portion meaning a handful of pastsa wth a piece of meat as big as the open palm of your hand. and a handful of nuts or grapes for a snack. eating every 3 hours will help you loose weight even tough it seems crazy! if you eat a little bit every 3 hours. (hand fuls of grapes ans such) you will prevent yourself from over eating and taking in too many calories. you can easiuoly do that by not eating snacks or not eating for 4 to 6 hours. so eat every 3 hours. and exercise (carido like jogging or walkign fast) and alternat eiht some pilates so you can build up a nice lean and toned body. you can also find a new sport you may liek and take dance classes. like ballet or jazz. they are fun and also help you loose the weight while still sculpting a nice lean and toned body. swimmign is also another good one.

Whoa! This is the scariest thing I've read on here today! Please DO NOT do this to yourself. If you want the EXTREME example of what happens when you do not eat, think of Terri Schiavo. If you don't remember her, Google her story and read it!
What your friends did was extremely dangerous and they are so lucky that nothing serious happened to them. My question is, what happened when they began eating again? They put the weight right back on, I'm sure.
PLEASE just do the sensible thing: eat healthy foods, watch your portions, and exercise!!!!!! If you want the medical concerns of a rapid weight loss, consult your doctor for the answers!
The ONLY time this kind of weight loss is necessary is for those who are MORBIDLY obese who need to undergo a serious operation and need to lose weight before surgery...and they STILL eat. It is done under a strict diet that is monitored by a doctor.

Yes! Without the proper nutrition you could get a serious disease and not be strong. Even if your friends did do that, it's not safe. You should consult your doctor for a healthy diet that could cause you to lose a few or more pounds. I recommend eating healthy and working out every day. I hope this helps! Good luck!

What the hell these people dont know about history when people had nothing to eat.
You can still survive but you have to eat a lot of water.
If you let loose and eat a candy bar or something u will gain wait cuz ur body is sucking up EVRYTHING from it. So eat healthy snacks every one in a while.
I respect you but its not very smart because you could end up with a condition

*become so skinny you can see your bones
*find it hard to eat normal sized meals
*be self consience
*DIE(I'm being 100% serious)
Compare the pros and cons. Do you really want to do that? You're friend was very lucky. Does she have trouble eating food now? Does she talk about her body constantly? Is she tired easily? I'm sure the answer is yes to at least one of those questions.

The pro is that you may lose some weight quicky. The much more serious con is that you would be setting yourself up for lifelong obesity, would begin to suffer serious damage (including in the brain) from lack of minerals, and may not be able to think quickly. You would be setting yourself up for later problems with pancreas (including diabestes / hypoglycemia), heart / vascular system (low blood pressure is at least as dangerous as high and lack of potassium even for short periods can have serious consequences for the heart), and your muscles (which your body will start to burn, thus slowing down your metabolism for much longer than the month you would be fasting).
Fasting for a month without food is dangerous and not to be recommended to anyone, unless of course you are seriously suicidal and really do wish to die. Better to move to a healthier diet and not endanger everything from metabolism to your mind. You are worth taking proper care of!

malnutrition is a con. also the weight loss will not be permanent. you will pack the weight on almost immediately and maybe even more. when you starve yourself your body goes into survival mode so when you do start eating again it will store all nutrients you get as fat in case you "starve" again. the best thing to do is to count calories. take in no more than 1500 calories a day and do moderate exercise. drink a lot of water and you should lose weight in a healthy way.

It is physically impossible to go without eating anything for a month because you would be dead... There is no pros for being anorexic, lose weight the healthy way by dieting and exercising.

Your body will shut down and burn muscle more then it will burn fat.
Instead eat MORE OFTEN- every 2- 3 hours, but only eat very little.
I like eating almonds about (100 calories worth), as a snack between light meals. Drink tons of water, and stop eating after 5 is a GOOD idea. (Just go to bed when you get hungry)
