If there is cheating, lying, drugs, alcoholism, or any kind of abuse you let it go....there's no relationship to work out.

Other than that if you still care for each other....why not give it another chance....

Personally, I would advise that you bite the bullet and end the relationship- but it really depends on what you want. Is the relationship on it's way down because both partners have already quit 'trying to make it work'? There are a lot of factors to staying in/ getting out of a relationship; you just have to weigh what you are ready to do against what you aren't ready for. But when you have gotten to the point of recognizing your relationship is on the outs, it's a sign.

Why prolong the agony?

To make it last and last when you know it isn't the right relationship is cruel and cowardly. Are you holding back because you don't want to be the "bad guy" or because you don't want to hurt her (or him).

Be honest with your partner and tell them that this is just not the right relationship for you.

That is my advice if you are single.

If you are married then I have different advice for you. If you are married I think you owe it to yourself and your partner to try to work things out. You made a comitment to stick with that person. You have an obligation to work your head around so you are at a place where you can work on the problems. In short, change your attitude, get into marriage counselling w/ your partner.

hi seashell, if u think things are ending then u should just move on as u r only biding time. Time which u could use on a relationship which u think is worthwhile n will last. I'm not saying give up at the first hurdle at all but if something is not right time won't change it. Good luck hope things go ok for u.

I knew my last relationship was heading no where for ages, and I unfortunately kept trying to make it work for over a year cuz I was too scared of change... then I finally took the plunge and I couldn't be happier. I was only ever angry with myself for not doing it sooner, and wasting all that time...

I was married for 25 years and knew it wasn't good at the end. I tried everything to make it work, but the deal is that it takes TWO to make it work - not just one. I loved him dearly but could no longer be his wife - and I asked him to leave. We remained good friends until his death.

If you see the end, don't string the other person along. Have a good long chat with them about it. Maybe you can work through it, maybe it can help bring you closure, either way...don't let it go on the same.

I tried to make it work but it got worse best thing to do is to let it go. All else fails if the feelings are still there they will be back. But by then you might find something better.

I'd leave, if you know it's going to end, end it now, don't drag it out. It'll only hurt the other person more... move on and you'll be a lot happier :-)
