What is your take on people who believe in the End Times in general, but also specifically those who believe we are in or soon to be in the End Times?

If they really believed it, I don't think they'd be going to work, school, or anything but heading each day to church. They assert that belief to make them feel they have something to hold over the heads of non-believers, but it's hardly more than a signal of poor self-esteem and insecurity in the face of dealing with the realities of life.

For years I believed in amillenialism because it was what I was taught. Now, I believe a more pre-millenial approach...but, because the "rapture" is not a word in the bible I have my doubts about the authenticity. I think people tend to exaggerate at times. I will tell you this...it is important for us to have open dialogues about it and see other ideas/thoughts...but, to remember it is a philosophy, not a point of salvation. In the past...this is one of the hot potatoes that christians divided about... I have come to realize it is really not important enough to be divisive with another person. I feel you and I will both know, soon enough... and, we will both be told what is the truth and it will not matter. Both of us will be facing ALL that we have said and done, and we will not care about the end times thoughts so much. Know what I mean?

I believe they can get in line with a lot of people since the beginning of recorded history who believed they were living in the end times. Compared to the length of the planet Earth's existence, we probably are in "end times," but actual D-Day could be millions of years away.

Consider that it's always the end times. It was thoght to be the end times when Jesus walked the earth. People who believe it's the end times are in good company. Peace be upon them.

Personally I don't believe in the End Times, but I would love it if the Rapture came and took away everyone that did.

Hello =)

Well, do you know the fairy tale about chicken little?? Not the children's movie, of course, but the real story..

Well, I look at them rather like that...

They got hit in the head by a rock, and have arrived at the absurd conclusion that the sky must be falling.

It's an amusing delusion, and, if they wish to spend all that time and energy running around like a chicken, well, then, that's just fine.....

Namaste, and Happy Holidays,

--Tom

I don't really give it much thought to be honest.
I can see why they might think that The End Times are upon us, but I don't personally think we are.
It looks interesting, not something I know that much about, so I'm hesitant to answer further.

There just the latest in a long line of doomsayers. Even Luther predicted the end of the world in 2000. Didn't happen!

Uh, non-end time beleivers? Is that a beleiver who diesnt subscribe to end times prophency, or is it simply a non-beleiver?? And, are you a non-unicornist, meaning you dont beleive in unicorns? I mean, how can you be a non-non-existent anything - how can you not beleive in something that doesnt exist???

All end believers want is for someone to come and wave a magic wand and make all the worlds problems disappear. Its not gonna happen. If god did give us free will don't you think he would want to see us fix our own world. What will we learn if he comes and does it for us?
