My best friend a married ( woman ) met up with me today. And she was completely depressed. She is a very talented attractive independent woman who has a great job. Her husband of two years now suddenly seems to be busy with work. According to her he is always busy with work. And has no time to spend with her even over the weekend. She is a great woman and a good friend; she loves him and completely and is devoted to this man. She looks after him and makes sure all his needs are met. After hearing her story I could not help but tell her what I thought was right according to me. I’m not claiming to be right here. But I did tell her that men generally get bored with women who are 24/7 available. She took my criticism positively but yet shocked with what I told her. What do u guys think?

when men turn to their work then something is lacking in the relationship. In a good relationship the couple do anything they can to get time with their spouse.

Disagree... in some part, yes, we get bored, but this is not exclusive to women and relationships, it is normal. It's a time, a period, that everyone goes through, even women. Some people have the need to reassess their emotions, goals and thoughts after a while.
He is probably proving himself, earning a reputation at work. He knows he's got a wife, a beautiful woman and wants to secure their future.

Instead of asking for advice (yours was really bad btw) your friend should be confronting the issue directly with her husband.

I don't think you had any right to tell her something like that...Why would you get her thinking something is going on when YOU don't have the 1st clue what he's doing or who hes doing it with. Is he an accountant? With tax season coming up, the peeps are going to need him be ready..Is he a constructruction worker, working on a shutdown that requires 14 hour days for months at a time? Maybe hes just working overtime to get her something that he doesn't want to advertise...Then a GIRL that his wife knows goes and shoots her mouth off ... There are a million reasons for him to be working and 0 reasons for you to run your mouth like that. I'd go talk to her again and try to repair what you have done. But then again. if shes smart..She'll see you coming and tell you to get lost.

Sorry to disagree with you on that. It sounds like your friend's married to a workaholic. It sounds like she's bummed because her husband doesn't show enough appreciation for what she does. She needs to talk to him about it. Good communication is the key to making a relationship work.

I think that love can be blind and great friends can give us the kick in the butt we need. And if we are wrong, at least we cared enough to suggest. Yes, she needs to come up with her own activities and interests. And she should be communicating these feelings to her husband. We all could use friends like you.

I do not think it is a matter of boredom rather I think that sometimes people can be taken for granted. No one wants to be taken for granted but it does happen. It sounds to me with your friend this is closer to the truth then boredom.

I think he's just trying to make the necessary moves to make things as smooth as possible for his/their life. He could also be just caught up in work, and work does take alot out of you if you're too much in it.

Men do get bored, but you shouldn't say something like that so bluntly. They're frickin' married, dude. Don't try to tear their marriage apart with your crappy obvious advice.
