I absolutely think Blue Laws should be done away with. I live in Texas. If I go to the grocery store on Saturday morning and buy a bottle of wine for dinner, no problem. If I go on Sunday morning and try to buy a bottle, no dice! You cant buy wine until after noon. This is to make sure I am not home drinking the vino instead of going to church. These laws are based on the idea of Sunday being "the Lords Day". Well, what if you are a Seventh Day Adventist and worship on Saturday? What if you are an atheist like me? It is a violation of seperation of church and state.

YES! It was put into affect by christians, its religion mixed with politics. I also live in Texas, I think Dry counties should be done away with too, the prohibition was in the 1920s long gone, yet people established laws to prevent liquer into certian counties.

Blue laws were put in place to legally enforce the religious doctrine of Sunday being a holy day.

All theocratic laws should be done away with.

Being unsure of where you are posting from, the Blue Laws have been done away with around here. Long ago in fact.

Yep, we should. Same goes for laws banning alcohol on Sunday's. Both laws are nothing more than religious fanatical laws that somehow assumes that EVERYONE is christian and should follow christian laws.

These are all state and local and are only revocable through lobbying your state & local legislative bodies. They are really nonsensical, given the fact that labor laws now enforce a 40-hour work week.

Aside from alcohol, do they exist anymore?
