Yup! My 11 mo. old daughter doesn't eat table food. What she will eat are the Gerber Graduates and Beech-Nut Table Time foods. They're more expensive than regular baby food, but will help make the transition to "people food." Especially try the Gerber Pasta Pick-ups, my kids love them! It helps them to learn self-feeding. Be careful, 'cause if your kid is anything like mine, the first thing they want to do is smash all the ravioli to pieces!!

Yes. My first son had a very sensitive upper palate and couldn't eat solid foods till he was almost 2. If you're worried, get a phsyological exam. Most likely, that's what they'll tell you: sensitive upper palate. Give him the foods he'll take without gagging, and don't push him. Keep trying every month or so. When he's ready, he'll take them. Good luck--

Yes! I worked for years for an Otolaryngologist and we had lots of patients(babies) that had this type of issue. It could be a couple of different things. He could have a cleft palate or severe acid reflux disease. The cleft palate will cause him to vomit his food and would have to be corrected through surgery and the acid reflux can be controlled by diet and meds(especially in young children. You probably need to see the peditrician to have them send you to the specialist. I would get him an appointment ASAP to make sure something more serious isn't going on. I hope this helps!

I hope the baby food you're feeding him is people food and not dog or cat food, lol. But seriously many small children can't chew or digest adult food until they get more teeth in their mouths. Have patients it's rough on little ones, with all that growing that's going on with their bodies multiplying in size and weight.

No, I have never heard of that. My baby has been eating table food since 6 months, I have never given baby food.
What does your doctor said? Have you gone to a specialist?

Was he vigorously suctioned or intubated at birth? Maybe he has some kind of oral aversion due to that?
Try giving him things like rice cakes that will pretty much dissolve in his mouth. Maybe he'll get used to finger feeding then and be more willing to give other table foods a try.

You need to see a specialist because he might have an eating problem.
