Yes I completely believe in God, but I do not go to church anymore.

I believe organized religion tends to put God in a box on what can be done in one's life whether it is intentional or not. I also believe that organized religion helps people become judgmental and prideful. That is, if you do something that the church believes is wrong, now you are "wrong". It is all very subtle so most people do not see it because its more comfortable to be a sheep then to have a mind of your own.

I was always told that my relationship with Jesus is personal, so I don't need reasons for everybody else to tell me what I do, see or believe is wrong.

Also, I am growing more diet, nutrition and environmentally aware of my surroundings. I heard about church for years and attended one for two years and not once did I ever hear anybody talk about these sorts of issues in our world. In fact my entire family is appalled at some of the choices I've made to better the future for my daughter.

If you're in an organized religion and say you care about life, then why do you only stand for the life you deem worthy?

Its rare to find organized religions that have sifted through the scriptures and apply them to this day and age and not for personal or congregational gain.

Organized religions have pride saying they are only right, they have pride with all their money and cars, they are hypocrites that do not live as Jesus did.

I may not be perfect either, but I'm not running around saying I'm a Christian and "christ like" when I'm not. I just don't claim anything so people can't classify whether I am right or wrong anymore. I am just me, doing the best I can as we all are, and am allowed to keep my relationship personal with God. I've interacted with Him enough to feel comfortable to know He is in control.

Also, the bible says we should not put all our faith in man, but that we should put it all in God since He is infalliable.

I do believe in God but don't go to church because when I'm in church I don't think of anything that has to do with religion at all. I'm either thinking about what I have to do or that hot girl with the short skirt 2 pews ahead. I grew up Catholic and they are sticklers about tradition and we had to memorize prayers and whatnot, but it's just lip service. And confession? I doubt an omnicient being needs a 3rd party to hear my sins. I have long since abandoned catholic practice and simply pray by appreciating a walk in the park and have a heart to heart out loud as if I'm talking to a friend that does nothing but listen. I don't get on my knees or fold my hands. Every once in a while I may type on my keyboard as if God's some penpal I've forgotten about. And when I am genuinely sorry for my misdeeds I share them to God. A penitent person with a conscience will know what he's done wrong. Also church seems to be more political anyway, and I'm tired of people imposing beliefs upon each other instead of simply sharing and relating. Each person's religious experience or spirituality should be an individual journey. It's not a bad thing to have some company along the way ya know, but I don't think of God as outside-in(a separate entity apart from me) I feel and believe it is an inside-out deal, and I feel closest to the possibility of that higher power when I am by myself and have no one else but the image I was created in to listen to. The war between good and evil is most often waged within ourselves, and I know whose side I'm on. So if church made me feel as close to God as my own personal form of prayer does, perhaps I'd go, but I know that when I go, it just doesn't do that for me.

I've been saved and walking with the Lord Jesus for 30 years. Most of those 30 years I haven't had a church. I have one now but I am about to be churchless again. I don't know. I just don't agree with the way they're set up like a business, the way they strive for worldly success such as large parishes with many high tithing parishoners. I think they have their fingers in too many pots, so to speak. I mean, they drain the church to give to all of their many outreaches, but then they end up praying for the finances of the poorer parishoners. Well, if they didn't bleed them to death to give to so many missionaries and ministries, they wouldn't be so poor, would they? I just don't feel comfortable at churches. I wish I could find a humble church focused on Christ.

I love the Lord with all my heart and I read His word daily, but I do not go to church regularly. I try very hard to live the Christian life and to love everyone. I ask God every morning to give me someone to witness to during the day.

I would love to find a good Bible teaching preacher that could fill me with Scripture instead of his stories. Prosperity preaching turns me off as does the People Pleasing Pastors. The love of many Christians is growing cold as it is written in Matthew 24:12.
I wish Preachers would realize that it is God's word that changes lives and not their word. The better pastors quote God's word throughout their sermons. These pastors are few and far between. There are many false prophets among us and they are deceiving many. A good pastor is hard to find.

Yes. I believe in God but do not go to any church or temple because God is within ourself. He has created all the universe. He is every where. He is guiding, inspiring and maintaining everything. If you have true faith in Him it is not essential to go to Church/ temple. Ask your hurt the correct decision for your your work and duties, the necessary help will come from within. Only you have to obey them and fulfill your responsibilities which God has assigned to you through the society. Have full faith and be firm to your responsibilities. God will be happy even you do not go to Church.

Yes I believe very much so. But, I usually don't have a way to get to church. Nor do I have any decent church clothes. (People always say "Oh it doesn't matter what you wear, then you go with jeans and an old T-shirt and really feel stupid....and that seriously is my wardrobe) And I would feel bad not having money to give. Actually, I got kicked out of Lutherine for not giving money. So, I stay home and watch church t.v.

If he continues to be residing at the same time with his mom, possibly she insists that he bypass to church. possibly he likes going to church because its between the few places on the city the position he would not ought to pay some thing to be there if he would not favor to. possibly he's not as confident about his atheism as he says he's. possibly his necklace has sentimental cost that has not some thing to do with God. possibly church time is time to be with kin and favourite human beings. possibly he's afraid that he will estrange too many human beings he knows if he stands up for atheism. if so, he may be incorrect. If he's sweet, then asking him to face up for his beliefs would nicely be asking too a lot at present. i'd recommend antagonistic to putting him on trial for his inconsistencies. Ask questions. Draw him out. Be a chum. like it or not, in deepest concerns like faith, he has a suitable good to be as inconsistent as he will. Rainchild

Belief in God does not make one a faith-filled Christian, Jew, Muslim, etc. It only means that you believe He exists, not that you love Him.

Going to church is a result of your desire to be closer to Him and worship on one accord with fellow believers. It's a personal choice to have a relationship with Him. I love Him and desire to be in His presence. I'm in His presence at home, in my car, at the mall, everywhere. He doesn't live in my church building; He lives in me. I go to church each Sunday to worship Him with my congregation.

PS: Shari, find a church where people truly accept you as you are. They are out there! Check out this website for a non-denominatinal church near you: http://www.chog.org

I consider myself to be a very strong Christian. I, however, do not enjoy the politics of the local church. I still meet with several Christians quite often. I respect their attendance at church it just isn't for me... Jim
