Special that worked for me and might work for so many of us in here and you all know who you are:

"... our self-centeredness causes many problems. It propels us to say and do things that hurt others. It enters almost every conflict we have with others: we want our way; we're convinced our idea is right. In addition, our selfish attitude is one of the biggest obstacles to gaining spiritual realizations because it causes us to be lazy in our practice. If we reflect deeply over time, we will become firmly convinced that our real enemy, what obstructs our happiness and well-being, is our self-centered attitude." Venerable Thubten Chodren in her book "Working With Anger"

"Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense. This day is all that is good and fair. It is too dear, with its hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on yesterdays." -Ralph Waldo Emerson *** "I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish humble tasks as though they were great and noble. The world is moved along not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes but also by the aggregate of the tiny pushes of each honest worker. " -Helen Keller

and that feeling bound is just as much One as feeling free...
only then does the inner division, better known as ego, fall away."

I can't think of a particular one, darn it, but I think almost every word in "Zen, a Path to Paradox" by Osho opened my eyes, made me laugh, and just plain enriched my life. I would highly recommend that book to anyone.
