Hi,
Any VCR that can record DVDs and play VHS tapes should be able to do this. They will run anywhere from $125 to $250. The DVD does not really pop out, but rather, you insert the VHS tape, insert a DVD, and then dub the VHS tape onto the DVD. You should be able to buy one from a consumer electronics store, like BestBuy, Circuit City, CompUSA, or other electronics stores. To determine which model is correct for you, you should probably talk to a salesperson in a store. There is only one thing you must remember, and it is that it is illegal to copy copyrighted VHS tapes onto DVD. If, for example, you want to copy an old movie that you got in the '80s, it is illegal to take the tape and make a DVD out of it. However, you can transfer anything else, so long as it isn't copyrighted. Hope this helps, and happy holidays!

Technically, it includes connecting a VHS participant to a working laptop or workstation that has the two the hardware (oftentimes, a video enter card) and utility (video recording / modifying software) to capture the output, and DVD hardware (a DVD RW+/- force) and utility (DVD burning software). you could then feed the enter into the workstation, have it checklist it, and then format this for DVD and burn the disc. this is an rather large-brush description, yet with any luck you get the assumption. having reported that, there are a number of centers (the two online and brick & mortar) which will try this for you for a cost...the value is now and lower back very clever, and oftentimes thoroughly outlandish, so do your analyze.

i'm not sure that they have that for the home user--but you can get your vidoes put on dvds at a camera shop that does that. it probably won't cost much.
