I have an old console TV that I've already tried to donate to Goodwill and the Salvation Army, but both of them turned it down, even though it works. Are there any environment-friendly options available to me as opposed to tossing it in the trash? I saw a truck on the freeway recently that said they provided this service, but I can't remember the name!! I'm in southern California, if that helps. Thanks!!

You can freecycle it- there's someone out there who needs a tv and would be glad to come take it off your hands. Go to www.freecycle.org and sign up for the freecycle nearest you and post an ad to get rid of it.
