Mothers say that because there is good scientific evidence to show that this is true, but it's not caused by what you may think.
Scientific studies have shown that wet hair, or being wet in general makes you colder, and as a result, you will want to be in a warmer place. Warmer places in winter time are usually inhabited by large numbers of other people who are also seeking to be warm as well. This puts you into closer contact than you might otherwise have with other people who may have colds or the flu. It doesn't actually reduce your immunity to colds or flu.

Im a nurse. No it will not. Do you get sick every time it rains on You? I never wear a hat or carry an umbrella. I take my dog out with wet hair and Im never sick

My mom said the same thing and I have been going out with wet hair and never had a problem from it.

No, going outside with wet hair doesn't make you sick. It simply weakens your immune system so you are more susceptible to the common virus.

not your hairbeing wet, bt the cold wind thats hitting you will make u even colder cuz ur hair is wet and then cuz ur hair is wet water will drip onto all of you, then youll get too cold and then yes, you get sick cuz u go from warm to cold.

No. That is just a myth. Your head will probably get cold, but it will not make you sick. Being sick is caused by bactiria & viruses, not cold weather.

I live in the midwest, we have cold weather from Oct-Feb. my mother always told me not to, but once I moved out I did it and nothing happened. You have to try it, you will never know.
