I have a tattoo, I really like it but it is not as good as it could be, a very small part of it needs to be removed and it needs a little more colour in some places. Would a tattoo artist be able to alter it?

if you're just looking to slightly alter the tattoo, and not cover it up, i'm sure that SOMETHING could be done to it, but it's not like tattoo machines come with erasers so you can't take any part out of it. parts of it can be disguised and such but it really depends on what you have. some people think you can just magically change or cover a tattoo with anything but that's not the case. most of the time, especially depending on the tattoo (ie- how dark it is, how much of it is line work and how much is shading, colouring, etc..) what you can do to it is limited. sometimes the possibilities are endless (although this is rare). your best bet is to talk to some good tattoo artists in your area and they can help you out. if you like what you hear, then you're in business. one thing i want to point out though (and i know you don't want a complete cover up, but i just want to say this) so many people come into the shop i work at and say "i have this tattoo, and i want to cover it up with this". that is not always possible, in the case of a cover up, many times the artist has to come up with something to cover it up with. it's not as easy as you choosing whatever you want. sure you have say, it's your body, and the artist will work with you to come up with something you like. but as far as the design goes, with it's proportions, line and colour choice, the tattoo artist knows best. anyway good luck with that.

it would probably help if we could see a picture of the tattoo. a tattoo artist can not "remove" any part of a tattoo but it is possible sometimes to cover something with more ink. but like i said i would have to be able to see it to know exactly what could be done and what you are talking about.

A good artist will be able to alter it, but make sure you do your research before getting it done otherwise you may end up with summit even worse.

Yes you can. My daughters have both had tattoos they were tired of or didn't like and you can't even see them now. Just go to a good artist.

Should be do able. There are a number of factors in play however. size of the tattoo and location are two factors. Style of tattoo and what you want done are a couple of others.

Yes you can. Certain tattoo artists can do that for you, or they also (i think) have a laser procedure that can get rid of it.
