Well we have to try and point out that those that need some kind of explanation know that there are those that are concerned and for the one asking knows that he or she isn't alone. Everyone needs someone to confide in no matter how the question is put. Lots of folks are crying out for someone or anything they can hold on no matter if they are strangers. Just lonely souls drifting searching for answers that maybe someone out there can help or direct them in the way they should go. I don't think that is selfish of anyone of us who are there trying to lend a helpful hand. I'm not in there trying to look good just want to be a friend if i can possibly. And if you don't like that answer then you are selfish in asking. For me its not the points.

Well isn't it ironic you are asking this question to a bunch of people who have no clue what the answer is because the only people who KNOW the answer to you question are the ones you have driven away from your question by offending them? Thus you are left with a bunch of people who are guessing. Irony mocks you daily.

That's the name of the game...some just answer lol, or funny or ewww... but some try to make it interesting. If it is a joke or riddle, why not have fun with it? The serious questions,(non jokes) then don't answer if you don't know... it only adds to the confusion.
So is this question a joke or riddle? If it isn't either, I won't answer.

Could be several reasons. Some like to give smart-a.$.$., rude, or stupid answers. Some do it to gain more points. Others may feel they're giving a valid answer and doing their part. A semi-decent answer is better than no answers or a rude, insulting one.

People just want the two points from answering a question only, they don't care anything about your questions at all.....

Probably just to get points. Yahoo doesn't care how you answer a question, right, wrong or stupidly to get the points added.

Yeah, sometimes people want to get more points. It is annoying when you're looking for a serious answer though.
