What is hocus pocus to one person has significance to someone else. Maybe you need to find a church that is more like the New Testament church. I doubt if there was much ritual in that church. Personally my church has very little if any liturgy which I like. A small fellowship is about as close as we will probably get to the new testament church. They sung a hymn and went out.

It depends what is hocus-pocus...

I selected my church on grounds that I wanted the Bible be the center of the teaching, where they lead people to a life changing and life saving connection with Jesus Christ.

I love my Lord, and I need to have people around me who are teaching me what God wants me to do with my life. My own choices have not had very great track record. My life looks outside like an ideal life, but I am happy that Jesus took His time and gently pulled me back.

I am happy that my church is bold enough to teach God's word instead of going for more popular things.

not sure what you mean by "hocus pocus" but I assume that since u put it in quotations that you don't take the spirituality of church too seriously....

No. It's a rejected institution. What're you talking about? Since when is a building with a bunch of suits and dresses on a Sunday and a smiling crank upfront a church. Sounds more like an Edsel.

And what "Hocus-Pocus" are you referring to?

If you take out anything religious, including the religious people, it's just a building. That would be fine with me. I like buildings.

As a Christian Pastor I feel it would be a lot better if all the foolish games and silly rhetoric was removed and we stuck to the Word of GOD.
