Hubby never buys used, wont let me either. I grew up with used cars all my life and he wants me to have a brand new one for once. We can afford it and are paying cash, so its not a big deal on the "depreciation" or whatever. I just want to know if its a good vehicle.

Aren't they great looking! I really like Sport Tracs, especiall the new 2007's. My family races motocross so often I'll bring a Sport Trac home from the lot to tow the bikes. I like the rubber floor it's so easy to clean. I usually drive the 4.0L V-6 model and it tows my 6 motocross bikes great! I imagine the V-8 would be even better, but it might bump you from your price range. And if power is not a factor, I don't think you'd miss it.

They're basically an Explorer and you'll find mixed reviews on the Explorer. So many times people give you advice on what they HEAR, not actual experience. I've driven every vehicle you can imagine, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy an Explorer or Sport Trac. Their turning radius' are great, their ride quality with their independent rear suspension is great, and for the money, they're hard to beat.

If you like it, I'd go for it! Neat looking SUV/Truck with a lot of versatility! Good luck!

It's never a good idea to buy new.
Why pay the depreciation?
You can buy more used car (1 or 2 years old) for the same money.

I have an 2002 model and I have enjoyed it so much.

I like the roomy interior along with the bed for hauling.

Gas mileage is so-so but with a a V-6 what do you expect.

For the money I believe it is a good choice.
