Don't use any stupid pick-up lines for crying out loud! I personally hate this. It shows lack of creativity and imagination (not to mention it's a complete turn-off). Like some others have said, just be yourself, smile, good eye-contact. Just ask her about her self. Where is she from? What does she do? What does she find fun? All good conversation starters and you will not get a slap or a drink in the face :) If the conversation really gets going and you hit it off, then take her out.

You can start by not being a jerk...approach her and let her know why you did so...ie; "I saw you from across the room and thought someone should tell you that you have a really nice smile." when she thanks you or says I have a boyfriend or whatever her response is...just say Hey, just letting you know, not trying to pick you up, just sharing info...and walk away...never come on too strong, but don't be an **** if she snubs you...believe me...you'll get her attention if you are sincere enough...

The best way to pick up a girl is being yourself, dont try to use any tired played out lines that you got from a movie or somewhere else(this is a turnoff). Start off by introducing yourself and making convo and who knows she might give you her number. :)
