I had migraines for years and they were getting worse and worse about five years ago I began to have them twice a week . Blind spot turning to flashing lighs ..aura and then I would lie down and wait and hope to be sick which would take about 2 hours of feeling absolutely terrible then be sick and much better but still a terrible headache so i would sleep for about 4 hours and then be able to cope up but still dizzyish for a day or two.
I did over the years ask the doctor if I was seeing him for something else if there was a new cure and I have occasionally taken things but my experience of these drugs was to prevent me being sick so although they would have kept me upright for some special occasion I felt dreadful for days after .Being sick was the biggest releif .
I read on the internet about magnesium The first time I took a 250ml pill disolved in water . WOW it was like an electric shock after only a few seconds ( I read on the internet of someone else having the same experience) I am also I think sensitive to milk (not alergic but not taking in the calcium ) so I take calcium too to make a drink of them together. Magnesium can make you have diarrah . At the start I took 250 3 times a day and I cannot quite remember how much calcium ( there are loads of help for magnesiumg on pc search) I now ( 3 years later take 125 magnesium and 250 calcium in a drink ( yummy , my life saver) 3 times a day also vitamin D as this is needed for the calcium to work and calcium is needed for the magnesium to work so even if you are fine with milk though I should try stopping the milk just in case for a bit , take some.
( alergies are really so easy as it is obvious being sensitive to things is awfully difficult as one might be just a tiny weeny bit sensitive so things build up without noticing)
This worked perfectly but I still got the odd migraine with the same intensity as before . I never eat chocolate, cheese ,red wine , eggs and dried fruits not too much . But I did have a tomato sandwich occasionally and tomato salad and I thought oops its the tomatos so I stopped them but still the occasional migraine . But at last I worked it out !!! SALT ..... on my tomato sandwiches I was putting salt and never mind if too much comes out of the packet I don't usually eat much and the iodine is good for me as I had a lump on my thyroid removed 8 years ago and I had been eating crisps
So now iodine in pills and NO salt and NO migraine ( I often wondered why I was so sick of almost nothing )
I have not had a migraine now for 8 months sorry this is a bit long but am so excited to be able to tell someone . I do hope you try and do let me know if you have any good results
I have always had problems with my neck which apparently magnesium helps and also always worn sunglasses even as a child my doctor advised now not neede thanks to magnesium ...again an extraordinary side bonus

It helps to press hard the points on your head where the pain is. I know this in itself is painful put it will help to loosen up the pressure. I would also try a warm compress. Tiger balm has also helped me as well. Just rub it on the part that hurts. Resting the eyes is best for it. I think if you take a pain killer and put a warm compress on it, as well as pressing the points you should be good. Try some soothing tea as well. Good luck!

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information
